My Story

Assalam Alaikum, and welcome!

I’m Samia Elkowessny, and it fills my heart to share my vision through the Hijabista Girls Program — a program designed to educate girls about hijab in a positive, empowering, and interactive way.

💛 My Journey

Growing up in Toronto, Canada, I began wearing hijab at the age of 11. Like many young girls today, I faced challenges and pressures that can make embracing hijab feel difficult. These experiences shaped me and gave me a deep understanding of what girls go through as they grow into confident young Muslims.

✨ Why I Created the Hijabista Girls Program

Over the years, I’ve noticed increasing negativity around hijab — from harassment to fear, and even girls removing their hijabs entirely. These pressures affect young hearts and minds, shaping how girls perceive hijab and its significance.

As a mother of two, including a tween daughter, I felt a calling to create a program that is inspiring, interactive, optimistic, loving, and empathetic — a space where girls can explore and embrace their Islamic identity with confidence and pride.

The Hijabista Girls Program was born from this vision: to help girls see hijab as a source of strength, identity, and empowerment.

💫 Our Vision

The Hijabista Girls Program is more than a course — it’s a movement to inspire and uplift girls everywhere. Everything we teach and share is rooted solely in the authentic Quran and Sunnah, so girls can grow with confidence in their deen. Through interactive lessons and thoughtful guidance, we help girls:

  • Understand hijab as a symbol of modesty and personal strength
  • Embrace their Islamic identity with confidence
  • Feel inspired, optimistic, and supported as they grow

I pray that Allah (SWT) guides all our girls on the righteous path, helping them develop love, understanding, and pride in their deen.

🤝 Together, we are building a program that empowers girls today and inspires a global movement for the future.
